What makes you a content creator destiny or hard work?
This debate is a favourite of everyone. The lazy ones claim not to work hard when destiny will anyhow give what’s destined for them. Whereas, the hard workers never like to sit idle and keep working their way without waiting to see what’s in store for them. Destiny or hard work, whatever path you take, you can’t trick your destiny. The last seal on your hard work is stamped by destiny only.
Hard work
Let me share an experience with you. As much as I remember my childhood, I always loved writing. That’s how I adored English subject and the English teachers at my school. I wrote many age-appropriate good pieces while growing up. My mom also encouraged me to keep writing and polish my skill set. In 10th grade, I faced ignorance from my school friends and it wasn’t easy to cope at that time on my own. Writing down my emotions helped me stay calm.
I kept working hard, hoping to find a career in writing, but nothing happened. Gradually, I got busy in life, and writing took a back seat. After a few years of marriage and family, I finally had some time to consider pursuing my hobby. I took up writing again. I started reading books, joined a short writing course and discovered blogging.
Destiny sprinkles magic
It was this time only that all writing opportunities aligned for me and I could make writing my profession. It was not before or later but at the right time that made it possible.
On the contrary, I would never say to sit and wait for destiny to throw mangoes on you. I practised writing throughout so that when the right time came, I was ready with my skill set to nail it. Also, lazying around and keeping your brain idle is not good for your mental and physical health. It gives room to negative energy and you waste your talent against bad habits.
Instead, isn’t it better to keep exploring different aspects of your talent? So in my case, it is my hard work stamped by destiny that made me a content creator and I am simply loving it!
Destiny or hard work, which one do you choose?

While Destiny chose me to embark on the path of writing and content creation through blogging, hard work helped me keep learning and going on this wonderful journey.
Absolutely, Swarnali. Thanks.
I always feel like destiny and hard work can both be so influential towards achieving goals or mapping out the future. I’m so glad to hear that everything finally aligned for you! I spent many years being interested in writing, but only managed to make it into a career after many years of simply seeing it as a hobby. It’s wonderful when one’s passion can turn into a job!
Yess, I can feel that! Thanks, Damyanti.
My story is similar to yours to an extent, Geethica. I was a good writer in school and college and an avid reader. Got married very young then kids and wrote essays for them. Destiny played a huge role when my husband passed away and I was invited by The Hindu Metro Plus to write for them and then I started blogging at 46. It has been 20 years and I have been through so much but never gave up writing. But right now, I am struggling with a writer’s block due to my illness. I want to write on this topic but am unable to string the words. I wish I knew how to get out of it.
Just write whenever you feel better without the fear of editing it. Once the flow comes back, you can edit and publish your pieces. Thanks, Harjeet.
So you are writer since your childhood. Lucky to have a mother who guide you. All the best for your writing career.
Thanks, Neeta.
