Did you know that my free blog was called Spectrum of life?
It was 2016 when I started researching blogging and found blogger.com. Life always fascinates me and I love penning down my experiences on my blog. So while finalising a name for my blog, I looked for words that encapsulate different shades of life. That’s when I named my free blog Spectrum of life.
Your initial writings are always raw but they are sweet memories to remind you about how you started. I blogged about motivation and nature that comes naturally to me. But you need time to get an audience for your work. I used to share on Facebook and would get mixed reactions from my friends. Some would appreciate it while others would recommend a motivational writer to seek help.

Blogchatter gave me the community
You grow and learn gradually. I discovered Twitter where I found writers of other genres too. That’s when I came across a tweet from Blogchatter for some community activity. I applied thinking that this will direct me to some regular blogging ideas and well that was the point.

To my surprise, I instantly made friends and we all loved reading and sharing each other. I wondered was it easier to make friends online pertaining to my reserved nature? Well, blogging was becoming a regular activity in my daily and I was enjoying writing all on my blog.
Spectrum of life to Thoughts by Geethica
My blogger friends were intelligent to advise me on big and small writing decisions and that’s when I thought to buy a domain and continue writing there. I was told that with the change of blog name you lose readership and it takes time to build that circle again. So here I was. With 25 posts on my free blog Spectrum of life, I trasferred every thought of mine to my new paid blog Thoughts by Geethica.
My blog name changed so that it recalls my true identity. That’s how my blog name was born. I deleted my free blog and transferred everything to my new address.
People change places but they do remember things from old ones. Same is the case with blogs too.
What’s your story when you started blogging? I love to hear stories and indulge with them.

I too started my blog to vent out my feelings. It is still a free blog, not yet sure on which side of fence I am , but yes have become more regular now than earlier
Wow. If you are seriously writing some useful pieces on your blog then you should definitely go to the paid blog. It will be your permanent address on the internet. Thanks Harshita.
