Do you have enough reasons to support your habits?
Habits tell a lot of things about you. Some habits are genetically in you while others you acquire from your surroundings as you grow. It’s interesting to know you through your habits. If you keep your room neat and clean, you are clean and clear in your thoughts too. So many habits make you proud of yourself but do you have enough reasons to support your habits?
How do you support your habits?
I have observed that both good and bad habits come in you without much effort. When you are living with the same set of people for a long period, you start behaving the same way unknowingly. It is too hard to detach from bad habits. While you are observant that you should not get bad habits from others, still sometimes, you realize you are doing the same things as them.

You can’t detach all bad habits so easily but can only overpower them through acquiring good habits knowingly. For every bad habit, learn and practice a good habit:

- When you are angry, you should divert your mind to something of your interest. Watch the blue sky, look at your kids or simply binge on your favourite show/movie.
- If you can’t concentrate on the present because your mind is busy thinking negatively about someone then stop at once. Listen to your favourite song or start humming right away. Your mind will run away but forcefully bring it back to the present.
- If you are unwell, don’t watch emotional movies as they make you cry further and you may have a headache too. I watched some of the worst comedy films that eased my mind and I felt better. Seriously, I hate comedy movies but they are the best stress busters.
How about good habits?
Don’t we flaunt our nice habits that are helpful to others? But surprisingly, ego empowers me many times that I am helpful. This is how good habits also turn into bad within a few seconds. I believe and have sensed it every time that it’s all in your mind. Just a thought changes your perspective towards other people. It’s too hard to keep away negativity but when you do, you feel thankful.
This proves to me that nothing is impossible but you need to focus on your thinking. To think about good things that support your habits.
Have you ever experienced change of thoughts for someone within a few seconds?

I am grateful I stumbled on your post today. Have been feeling irritated and angry. But will follow your steps and try and have a better control over myself
Hey Harshita, thanks. Habits do make us proud but it’s important to maintain them for good.
Nice tip there. Good habits can replace a bad habit. Sometimes a lot of good habits will not leave any time to develop a bad habit.
You are correct. Thanks.
I have experienced change of thoughts for some person in a couple of minutes. I immediately think about the reasons why the person behaved in a certain way with me, try to analyse the back story and I feel better.
Yes, it actually works. It’s just that we need to be thoughtful and patient before turning negative for somebody. Thanks, Aesha.
