Hauz Khas Social
Hauz Khas is known for its beautiful lake and Hauz Khaz monument. Over the years, this place has come up with many innovative cafes and designer studios. The lanes are creatively carved to mark new social beginnings. We had a walk by the lake and clicked some awesome pictures before we entered Hauz Khas Social. The entry to the cafe is quite different. You may not realize what holds for you inside by the lanes you enter. We were sceptical about the place before we opened the door and found the spacious cafe inviting us. Nobody can imagine it’s so big from inside. We found a table that was adjacent to the fort and open to the lake. I guess that is the prime area of this place.
The story in their own words
Everything at Social has been found and not bought, making it super environmentally friendly. 100% recycled and upcycled furniture merged with hard industrial elements, it is totally stylish. Class beyond comparison!
Unfinished bare walls are eased in with plush leather sofas. Skeletal table clamp lights add strong lines to the large communal tables and naked bulbs dangle from the ceiling.
How to reach there
The Food review
The ambience was so intriguing that we forgot to order. The food will distract from the scenery and the company of each other. Yet, we ordered. After all, it is the essence of exploring different cafes. We ordered Paneer Biryani and my favourite Peach Ice Tea. The biryani may sound awkward in the evening but paneer is his weakness and I guess he can have it in the breakfast also! The food was of superb quality with energetic ice tea.
I didn’t like their serving plates though. Maybe as they believe in recycling products but the cutlery may be somewhat better.
The price you pay
We paid approximately Rs 1000 for our order and were quite happy to revisit. By the way, another branch is opened in Vasant Kunj Mall also which I am yet to try. If you get a chance to taste this one first, do let me know.
PS: This is not sponsored post but my personal experience.
