Too Mikkii Tapas – Chanakyapuri
Searching cafes are adventurous, I must say. Today, exploring the lists, I bumped into a cool cafe I had been to with my partner. We didn’t take any pictures, in fact, we never read the name of the cafe also. But visuals do make a space in your mind. While browsing, I stopped when I saw this cafe picture and realised that it is the same one. Let me share with you Too Mikkii Tapas in Chanakyapuri. There is a small beautiful complex opposite the Taj Palace Hotel. Whenever we come here, we get a good variety of cafes to choose from. This time we were impressed by this cafe’s outdoor sitting and we ordered instantly.
The story in their own words
The story of “Too Mikkii Tapas” begins with Mikhil Pahwa or just ‘Mikki’ as people know him. Mikhil has been experimenting with his palates ever since he was a child. What began as a simple love for food was turned as a profession after he finished his apprenticeship from Melbourne, Australia and became a qualified Chef. He spent 10 years in Australia, learning the art of preparing awesome delicacies by working in various restaurants and acquiring every skill set that he would have needed.
After returning to Delhi, India, Mikhil explored the Cafes and Restaurants around and realized how uneasy it was to have a simple and casual dining experience. He could not relate to the concept of getting all dressed up just to have a good meal. Thus, he decided to open his own restaurant – Too Mikkii Tapas, a casual cafe with outdoors located in the heart of New Delhi – Chanakyapuri – a prime location right adjacent to Taj Palace Hotel.
I exactly feel the same that why do we need to dress up so much just to have a meal? Why can’t we be in pyjamas like home? It is one of the reasons I fell in love with this place. The people around were casually dressed up, in fact, we thought we were overdressed! We felt much younger with the crowd there and remembered our courtship days.
How to reach there
The food review
We ordered a veg wrap, sandwiches, lemonade and hot coffee. The food was awesome and more than anything we enjoyed the open cafe. The location is just perfect and you get a feel of another city for a while; away from the daily hustle bustle. We have planned to revisit sometime again and this time we would click some pictures too. Your family will also enjoy together.
The price you pay
We paid approximately Rs 1200 for the delicious food we ate. This was the icing on the cake. We had good food, beautiful ambience, loving company and pocket-friendly bill.
You must try this cafe soon to fall in love with it. This is not a sponsored post but my personal experience.
