Tea, Water and Weight loss
Some of you might be thinking how do they even associate, but trust me these two bare essentials of your life could actually help you with weight loss and impart a healthy glow to your skin. Who doesn’t want it? No matter what age you are, every woman out there aspires for a healthy frame with a cheeky glow on her face. I am not going to introduce you to something that you haven’t heard of before, but I am going to make it more familiar to you. And without much ado, the thing I am talking about is “DETOX.”
For me, detox is a process to remove harmful substances and toxins out of the body naturally. Detox therapy has got a lot of hype in the recent times mostly because of its popularity amongst the celebrities. A lot of celebrities have vouched about it. They have claimed to have lost a lot of weight with the help of this miraculous therapy. But like celebrities, it is not important for your detox routine to be as expensive as theirs. All you need is to just take a closer look at your kitchen ingredients and you can come up with your own detox recipes and lose weight like a pro. So here are few of the recipes directly from my kitchen.
DETOX TEA RECIPE:
Tea is an integral part of Indian households. There are few who couldn’t even imagine their day without a warm cup of tea. So, why not alter few ingredients and convert it into a cup of goodness, which will not only give your day a kickass start but would also help boost metabolism and ultimately shed those extra inches around your waistline.
Ingredients:
Water-One and a half cups
Ginger: Half a-inch
One cinnamon stick
One medium sized cayenne-broken into pieces
Honey
Lime juice
Instructions:
To the pot add water and grated ginger, bring it to the boil. Add remaining spices. Let it boil, until the water reduces to a cup. Strain it and add a teaspoon of honey and few drops of lime juice.
This tea could also be stored in a bottle and consumed throughout the day. In summers this could be refrigerated and taken as an iced tea.
It has also been found beneficial in reducing mucus from the body.
DETOX WATER RECIPES:
We have always been told to take at least 8 glasses of water every day, but it is quite a job for few people. Believe it or not, water is not only good for health but it has a lot of beauty benefits too. It not only hydrates your body but makes your skin glowing, dewy and supple. If you don’t like plain water you can add few interesting ingredients from your kitchen to it and sip on throughout the day.
P.S. if you could use glass masons or bottles to store and make this water.
FRESH MINT AND LIME DETOX WATER:
Ingredients:
2 Fresh limes, sliced
One sprig of mint
Water (cold or room temperature)
Instructions:
Take a glass jar or mason and add sliced lime wedges to it. Take the mint and crush them a bit with your hands and add to the jar. Add water and close the lid. Keep it overnight or let it sit for 30 minutes at least before consuming.
APPLE AND CINNAMON DETOX WATER
Ingredients:
One apple, diced
3-4 cinnamon sticks
Water (cold or room temperature)
Instructions:
Take a glass jar or mason and add diced apple cubes to it. Add cinnamon sticks, if you want you can break them into two-three pieces. Add water and close the lid. Keep it overnight or let it sit for 30 minutes at least before consuming.
This recipe speeds up your metabolism and prevents you from binge eating. It burns excessive calorie and prevents fat storage.
WATERMELON DETOX WATER:
Ingredients:
Watermelon, cubed and seedless
Water
Cilantro
Instructions:
Take a glass jar or mason and add diced watermelon cubes to it. Add cilantro leaves to it; you can crush them before adding. Add water and close the lid. Keep it overnight or let it sit for 30 minutes at least before consuming. You could add a dash of lime to it.
This detox water is best for summers.
LEMON-CUCUMBER DETOX WATER:
Ingredients:
One medium-sized cucumber, peeled and sliced
One inch ginger, peeled and grated
One lemon, sliced into wedges
Mint leaves, crushed
Water
Instructions:
Take a glass jar or mason and add sliced cucumber, grated ginger and lemon wedges to it. Add water and crushed mint leaves and close the lid. Keep it overnight or let it sit for 30 minutes at least before consuming.
This is a great recipe to flatter that flat belly without feeling weak.
For all the recipes, you can keep on refilling the jar throughout the day. These tasty detox water recipes help you stay hydrated and flush out toxins from your body at the same time.
You can mix many such ingredients from your kitchen to suit your taste and increase your water intake.
