What happened 15 years ago that made me confident?
Memories keep us alive. They are the real stress-buster when you are stagnant in the present. My memories enclose in everything that’s old. The photo albums I created with date and occasion, the music I heard while growing up, the fragrance of perfume/deodorant I used at that time. The walls and furniture have their own stories to narrate what happened 15 years ago.
15 years ago creating lovely memories with Vidya
I am 18 years old standing at the college to check my result for B COM(H) the first year. It’s raining hard and the whole bus route was messy but going to college is always fun in every season. I have lunch plans with Vidya because checking the result takes hardly 5 mins and the distance between my home and college is 45 mins. So I am here to create memories that I can relish later in life and soothe my senses.
Our umbrellas are useless now because we are drenched in water from top to bottom. Once wet, you don’t feel the extra water on you anymore. Travelling in local buses, we can travel even standing on the stairs and in 15 mins, we will reach her home.

Teenage is all about boys and the crowd you see around. One such boy just boarded the bus and is standing as a protective boyfriend to Vidya. I can see her gleaming eyes and blushing cheeks. But the destination demands us to say bye to the boy and move on!
I like Vidya’s home at JNU. It’s quiet and in between the gardens like you are in the mountains. Her parents are working so it was just the two of us ordering food from Pizza Hut. Simple menu one pan pizza for each of us and coke. I changed into her clothes and my clothes are drying till the time I am enjoying pizza and talking about the boy we met on the bus.
Laughter and more laughter till we die of stomach aches. It is hard to eat and drink while we are laughing so hard. Oh my God, we saw that boy only for 5 mins on the bus and now we are madly discussing him for hours!
To equally divide all the bills is so cool and you feel empowered for no particular reason.
I am enjoying this little independence; away from home, having lunch with my best friend at her home and now heading back home taking a lot of memories along.

Your growing years that add confidence to your character
My college days were the best of my life that taught me independence with careful boundaries to take care of. My personality changed so drastically from school to college and I gained so much confidence.
A memory I remember from my school days is here:
Given a chance to time travel which period will make you emotional?
I am taking my blog to the next level with Blogchatter’s My Friend Alexa.

Ah! you made me so nostalgic. College was special for me too because I was away from home and family for the first time and it was a different kind of freedom; I was nervous and scared, but also excited
Wow, that’s cool. Thanks, Manali.
Indeed our past experiences shape us into the person that we are today. #MyFriendAlexa #TinaPicks

Such a heartwarming read. The college days are undoubtedly the best ones when you learn to be more confident as well as independent. Taking your own decisions and learning to fly on your own.

This was such a lovely read, Geethica. Small joys, rains, and friends. What else could we want? We have a sheltered life in school, and college is the time we come to our own.
Yes, so true. Thanks, Ritu.
All the college talks makes us so happy, today it may seem irrelevant but at that time our universe revolved around it. Good to know about your memories.
Yes, they make us laugh even today.

such a sweet nostalgic post Geethica. Yes, college days were so so cool. and we felt so fancy eating Pizza those days
Yes, seriously. New independence and eating with friends. Thanks, Harshita.
Oh I couldn’t agree more. Having independence early in life helps shape us so well, we learn to make our own decisions, have seen the world enough to know what is right and wrong and are patient because we know that whatever it is, it too shall pass. All of this of course, has a huge impact on our confidence because we are able to navigate life well. #PoojaMahimkarReads
Hey Pooja, lovely to have you on my blog after a long time. Thanks.
Even I have so many good and bad memories of travelling to college on the local bus every day. Yours is definitely too cute, it brought a smile to my face. Also, looking at your pic, I can say you haven’t changed at all, you still look as pretty and young as you were back then.

You should definitely post it. Memories shared are memories relived.
