Do you dream of a bright new future?
Cloudy blue sky and crystal clear water, the boat is taking me into a new life. I am enjoying the cold breeze on my soft golden skin. I don’t know where am I going but am happy to see new faces. No regrets from the past, only a bright new future. I feel like I am flying high and feel so light
Chasing a bright new future
Thud…The boat struck into something hard that caused the jerk. Suddenly there’s a loud repetitive noise around. Beep…beep…beep…beep. That was the alarm on my side table. I was clueless for a while until I checked my phone and breathed in reality.

It was 5 in the morning and I had to reach my office by 7. “Sunheri, Sunheri…aren’t you up by now? Are you taking lunch from home and what do you wanna eat?” You know who’s this, isn’t it? Yes, that’s my mom. Who else gets up with you or even before and asks for food?
Tossing between my dream and real life, I pushed myself to get ready on time. I like to be on time for my work and enjoy as much as possible.
Exploring old monuments and architecture is my first love. I am simply impressed with the fact that how do lifeless things narrate their own stories so well? My soul is always wandering in search of new stories from old buildings. My company pays me to be an archaeologist and for travelling in search of solid research that they can convert into gripping sales of their journal “Explore India”
I am quite happy in my current space in life, professionally and personally but I wonder why did I dream of a new life? Of course, dreams are not real but they do keep you occupied for some time. In fact, I believe that dreams come out of your subconscious thoughts only. Broken pieces of stories from the past mixed with future wishes you seldom know about.
Your cab your new destination
“Hey Sunheri, your cab has come.” Mom interrupted my thoughts and I rushed into the cab instructing other details to mom by the time I come back.
“Madam, your destination will take 7 million years to reach and your payment has been done.” said the cab driver.
Astonished, I saw his face in the front mirror. “What? Are you talking to me?” I reconfirmed.
“Of course madam. You are the only passenger in my cab.” he replied smilingly.
I couldn’t see his face in that hazy mirror and by the time I could understand what’s happening, the car fled in high speed. I could see out of the window that I am flying high. High up in the air and soon I was above water still flying.
Cloudy blue sky and crystal clear water, am I living my dream?
Yes. I have reached. I can see the same new faces with no regrets but only a bright future.
He was a time traveller, I am sure. He brought me to a new life within seconds. A life I just dreamt of. I can proudly say Magic, I have seen it happen…

Day dreaming! Wow, this one was short and fun. Loved it Geet, brilliantly written and connected with the prompt.
Thank you ji.
Your creativity with the prompts were surprising. Love your write-ups.
Thanks a lot
Aha! Interesting take., Geethica.
Lucky Sunheri 🙂
Sometimes dreams do come true.
Imagine encountering this cab & reaching destination within seconds!
Hahaha seriously! Thank you, Anita.
Such a sweet and perfect way to take it on all prompts. Love to read more from you!!
Thanks, Ruchi.
Beautiful indeed. I loved the narrative and the creative thought.
Thank you.
Glad to have you back, Geethica. This post is sounding so much like the Geethica I used to read before she became all serious 🙂 Guess I have seen magic happen here too. Please keep writing.
Wow… That’s the best compliment I can get for my writing, Mayuri. Since that day, I was confused and was in search of myself; the one that was missing.
But, I am so glad now. Unknowingly only, I am back.
Thanks a lot😁
A very interesting take on multiple prompts! Nicely done.
Thank you, Noor.
What a brilliant take on the prompt and I loved how you gave it a positive shade with dreams and how they can come true ! I enjoyed reading it thoroughly.
Hey Chinmayee, thanks.
Dreams ,reality, and life are really tricky. An unusual turn to your story left it openended which is great.
Thank you, Neha.
Lovely take on the prompt! You left me wondering in between dreams & reality.
Thanks, Nitisha
Seems creative and beautiful as usual. Geethica I admire your way of writing.
That’s so sweet of you, Sivaranjani. Thanks.
Sunheri was surely living her dream. Liked the way you took the story forward and make us all believe in Magic.
Thanks a lot, Meenal/Sonal
Hey Geet! How are you? Reading you after a real long time. I love the way you have used the prompt in your piece.
It is true everyone of us has many dreams and seeing them turn into reality is the best joy we can get. Thank you for writing this story.
Hey Romila, yes connecting after a long time but happy to be in touch through our blogs. Thank you for the appreciation.
Woah! This bright new future was unexpected!! So did Sunehri really time travel in that office cab or was she just daydreaming? I liked how you were brewing the story and etching the protagonist in our mind.
Haha, that I leave it to your imagination. Thanks, Daisy.
ohh.wow Geethica. This is my first fiction read on your blog and you did it wonderfully. Time traveling is one topic that I find hard to write. Sometimes we meet some people who take us into a completely new world.
Maybe I am also writing it fullfledged on my blog for the first time. I didn’t read it once I edited it finally and published it. It didn’t come to me easy but now that you have appreciated it, I must read once more.
Thanks, Alpana.
