Humour – 100% effective antidote for your life problems
Life is a mixed bag of happy and not-so-happy moments. Sometimes we are brave enough to fight back but other times, we need help. The solution is humour – 100% effective antidote for your life problems. Situations may take time to get better but humour instantly makes you feel lighter.
Why humour is important in life?
- When you are sad and life seems to be a curse, humour can only bring a ray of sunlight. You won’t smile at once, but after a while, that’s the only thing that’ll comfort you.
- In any difficult or embarrassing situation, a little pinch of humour can only make you feel better. You can see more ways to come out of the phase as your mind can now focus better.
- Humour lets you shine in your circle of friends. People love your company and want to spend more time with you taking inspiration from the same.
- Research shows that humour improves your health and increases your productivity at work by enhancing your creativity. Don’t you feel energetic and skilful at work when your mind is at peace? I can finish my tasks quickly and proficiently when I am happy.
- Your happy-go-lucky nature makes stronger bonds and nurtures your relationships. You overlook many mistakes of people around you saving time and energy. Humour makes situations look lighter and easy to manage.

How does humour do the magic?
When I was a young mother at 23, during one of those postpartum depression phases, I asked myself; Why do we have kids? I didn’t ask anyone but somehow started writing a poem. Coming to an end, I got many answers and felt so happy and satisfied. It was one of those moments when writing had clarified many of my life doubts.
Kids give you a reason to smile at the silliest things and feel better.
You can read it here: Why do we need kids?
Positive outlook helps
Your positive perspective to look at things helps you. I know it’s not possible to smile every time you are in trouble but practising and making it a habit definitely helps you in the long run.
Good company good thoughts
Being in the company of happy people matters. Other’s thoughts influence us so why not be that of happy people? We tend to discuss our problems with people we trust but those people must carry a positive outlook. Else, we will carry their baggage too along with our own.
Divert your mind to good things
When nothing helps then read books. I read comics because they make me laugh and humour is 100% effective antidote to sadness. Listening to music and practising Bharatanatyam changes my thought process and I feel better. Revising my dance notes and practising hand mudras while watching a video is also a part of learning and helping me calm my mind.
Any form of art is successful in keeping you busy and happy. When happiness empowers you, any situation is manageable.
Do you remember any humorous life incident that helped you lighten your mood?
This post is a part of ‘The Chuckle Chronicles Blog Hop’ hosted by Manali Desai and Sukaina Majeed under #EveryConversationMatters

humour definitely makes things easier for us. Glad it helped you at a tender age of 23. 🙂
Yeah. Thanks Sukaina.
Cannot imagine my life without a giving back a sassy/humorous quip to life’s problems. I always feel that a sense of humor is s the best god gifted defense we have. It could be to make someone laugh or just that positive perspective needed to handle this roller-coaster aka life. I love how writing your thoughts down made you find a different perspective. Kids, are laughter and happiness capsules.
Definitely! Thanks, Careena
that’s so useful and i unlocked new perspective of humor. I am glad to come across your blog
Thank you, Tanvi. That’s so sweet of you.
Humor is probably the salt of life, life would be tasteless without it and delicious with it.
That’s true. Thanks, Nilshree.
Absolutely true! Humor has a way of lightening even the heaviest days. Your post reminded me of how, whenever I’m feeling low, my husband would always crack a joke or act hilariously. At first, I get irritated, but I inevitably end up laughing with him. It’s then I realize he tries to lighten my mood so that later I can open up about my problems. Two overly serious people would definitely be too much to handle!
That’s so sweet of your husband, Pinki. Yes, one of the people needs to be less serious about tackling the situation. Thanks.
Life would be unbearable without laughter. You give ample reasons for that. I’d definitely love to have a lot of humorous people around. We’re becoming a nation of bores!
Yes, that’s a point to note and work on. People laugh at reels but not while conversing with others in real. Thanks a lot.
I firmly believe that ‘laughter is the best medicine,’ driving the blues away. Watch a funny show or read funny content, and your mood changes. What you say resonates with me. I once wore my clothes inside out and attended a PTA meeting. Later, when my husband brought it to my notice, I was embarrassed but had a good laugh about it.
Hey, that would have been a cool incident! With age only, we learn to laugh at ourselves and blow away the blues.
Life throws curveballs, and sometimes, all you can do is laugh. I remember a time when everything seemed to go wrong in a single day—missed the bus, spilled coffee on my shirt, and forgot an important meeting. Instead of sulking, I chuckled at the absurdity of it all, and surprisingly, that laughter lightened my mood. In essence, embracing humor isn’t about ignoring problems but facing them with a lighter heart. Your post is a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the best therapy is a good laugh.
Thank you.
True that. When life ho out of control, just smile and say All ijj well. Humour is the solution to a lot of issues.
Absolutely, Reubenna. Thanks!
