# I pay tribute to my mom and my guru on Women’s Day

Women's Day is a beautiful time to celebrate the peculiarities of all the women in our lives. This year, I want to pay tribute to 2 important ladies in my life who give a sense of belongingness to this world that keeps changing every now and then. They make my life easier by sharing their own life examples of **how dreams become reality with patience, hard work and perseverance**. I pay tribute to my mom and [guru Acharya Jayalakshmi Eshwar.](https://www.facebook.com/jayalakshmi.eshwar)

## Mom has all the solutions

Women's Day is just a reason to share my feelings for her else every day is a celebration if you think it to be. I have always seen my mom as independent in every walk of life. Whether it's taking decisions for her health or finances or any life issues, **she stands tall and strong.** During my growing years, she used to take care of everything in the family and yet lead a good professional life. Of course, I understood her life difficulties later in life when I stepped into her shoes.

Even today, she's the first person I share all kinds of gossip with. It doesn't matter what the problem is, she has the solution ready for me along with a life example she has gone through. With her real experiences, **life looks much more manageable. **

Mostly, I try to keep my [problems to myself ](https://thoughtsbygeethica.com/2021/11/is-your-mom-your-best-buddy-to-dump-everything-and-feel-better/)and don't bother her much. Well, at present it doesn't seem to be happening. Hopefully, someday I will also become independent in solving my problems and making her happy by just sharing good things.

## This Women's Day mom passes on the baton to me

Now our relationship is very unique, it's of a mother-daughter as well as of colleagues. Many situations I discuss with her today had been her problems too when she was young. And I am surprised to see the **same solutions applicable even decades after**. Life never changes only people come and go. It's interesting to know that there's one person in everyone's life with the same habits but from different generations.

She supports my new decisions and gives me the strength to carry them forward confidently. Even if my plans are not correct she has all positives and negatives sorted out in front of me to evaluate my thoughts again.

## Life is a blessing with my guru

From here on, my guru will lead my life ahead. **Art fills in the gap in your life where people fail to connect.** At the age of 35, I took the bold decision of learning Bharatanatyam again after a gap of 22 years. Of course, my family supported and I met my guru Acharaya [Jaylakshmi Eshwar. ](https://www.instagram.com/jayalakshmi.eshwar/)

Destiny plays the biggest role in moulding your life. Just randomly, I called up Triveni Kala Sangam and they forwarded me to my guru. At that time, I wasn't aware of her aura. She has come as a connection between my family and my dance.

Her life experiences of so many decades give me the direction to lead my passion for learning dance no matter what may come. She sets the right example of **taking life as it comes** and still being strong enough to reach your dreams.

## Lessons from my guru

Listening to her life stories, I remember my grandma who instilled in me the passion to learn dance. At that time, I was not very keen but still learnt. Time proves that learning never goes wrong. My guru taught us once that if you **respect your spouse**, his preferences and habits, he will also **appreciate and encourage** you further in your life decisions. It's not about ego but certain things that are created as it is in this world.

She encourages that **instead of arguing **to change the centuries-old systems, it's better to **accept the situation,** make your halfway and **save your [energies to better your craft.](https://thoughtsbygeethica.com/2023/01/how-often-do-you-think-to-energise-and-better-your-craft/)** Her practicality helps me mend my way out of my busy schedule and practice dance regularly.

I have learnt that there's **no age to learn **and you should not be guilty of your dreams. Nothing comes without hard work. Instead of cribbing, laugh away your sorrows and take time to do what you love.

## Life looks artistic ahead

With my guru ahead and mom by my side, this life seems to be pretty manageable and fruitful. On this Women's Day, this post is a tribute to both the important ladies of my life. Their experiences and life decisions will help me shape a proud future.

This blog post is part of the Women's Day Blog Hop, themed on She: A Tribute to Her, hosted by [Swarnali Nath](https://theblissfulstoryteller.com/)
