# Tips to achieve relationship goals by Dipika Singh

Today, on my blog there is another dear friend that blogging has given to me and that's Dipika Singh. I have not met her in person but I know her well through her writings. I guess we get along so well without meeting then what will happen when we will meet!! So let's get closer to understand her point of view towards maintaining relationship goals.

## Q1. Introduce yourself in a few lines. What is your relationship status?

I am Dipika Singh, an MBA graduate,
former banker, educationist and now a full-time mom of two. 1. Six-year-old
daughter. 2. Soon to be two Blog. I live life with – ‘one shot at a time terms,
stirred and not shaken!’

Relationship Status – Complicated! I
am a mid 30s woman (okay with few additions) who is trying hard to leverage her
head on being a witty wife, sane blogger, and a rational mother at the same
time.

## Do you have kids?

Yes, I have.

1 my daughter who is born to me.
Another one which I created online – my blog. Third – the one who married me in
disguise of a man!

## There’s always a change in the definition of love at every stage of life. What change did you feel after your kid/kids was/were born?

Absolutely, love changes. It
blossoms over time, matures and turns into understanding. When our daughter was
born, he was my pillar of strength. Since then our relation has grown from
being lovers to full-nest set-up.

Today we don’t need explanations, purpose, the right time to express. (Though I still keep chattering whole time when catching him.)

## Do you live in a joint family? If yes, do they help in building a strong relationship between the two of you? If no, do you miss their presence?

We are a nuclear family, but often
visit parents. Ours is Love Marriage and their support and understanding about
our relationship helped a lot in building trust. Love strengthens when it’s
pure and transparent.

## Kids make their parent’s bond stronger. But at times, parents argue because of them only because their teachings differ. What is your safe mantra in such a situation? Explain with an example if possible.

This is a very common situation in any household, especially when you in
joint family. It occurred with us multiple times in the beginning, but we sat
and discussed over it.

Since then, we do not poke our noses in other’s business. All arguments
can be held back momentarily, and can be taken later full throttle when kids
not around.

*Pro Tip – Never argue a woman, especially if the same woman
is your wife, and child’s mother. *

## Respect for your partner is the most important aspect of a successful relationship. Still, at some point in an argument, your ego comes in between and things become worse. How do you tackle such a situation and make your life peaceful once again?

Firstly, Love has no space for EGO.
If it still has ego, its surely not Love.

Secondly, arguments over trivial things are common household chores and can be dealt ***maturely*** in front of kids too. But it’s the parent’s duty to act as role examples in front of kids.

## Everyone loves surprises. There’s always an excitement involved. But when you are together for over a decade, you know him/her inside out. How do you still manage to surprise your partner?

Right, over time we know each other
inside out. But who doesn’t like surprises!

For us surprises come in variety of
packages. Give an out-burst compliment, or a sudden repertoire of old-days talk
during late night chats.

The best surprise I recently got
from daughter and father was – getting back to clean, tidy, and well-kept home
after I came back from a whole-day event.

## From your experience of married life with kids, please share some motivating tips to make your relationship successful?  What is your ultimate goal in a relationship?

The base of our relationship is –
friendship. We know each other for 16 years, and married since a decade. Have
seen life up and close together, one this that binds us is – still friends.

I do not shy away talking ‘flimsy’
or ‘weird’ with him, nor he keeps any ‘secrets’. And we have shown the same
face of love, relationship to our daughter. Someone has rightly said – Friends
are Forever.
