5 problems that don’t let you accept mental health issues?
While discussing mental health issues, one of the important things is to know why do people avoid addressing their problems? What keeps them away from accepting and then finding a solution? People are usually busy with their lifestyles that they seldom believe in having a mental health issue in the first place. Moreover, even if they know about it, because of a few reasons they don’t want to accept mental health problems.
What doesn’t let you accept mental health issues
Do we live our own lives or portray someone else’s? Today, we are more confidant of our personalities and in control of our choices. But somewhere or the other, people around us influence us. Sometimes, we do it because of our love for them and other times, out of unwanted pressure. Every person has his/her own particular reasons.
Multi-tasker men/women
This applies to all those men and especially women who have categorised themselves as Wonder woman. Initially, it looked awesome to be tagged as multi-tasker and were encouraged by others who asked – how do you manage it all?
You know the answer. What does it take to be a superwoman? It doesn’t come easy or naturally. You need to arrange a hell of a lot of things; delegate things and take the pressure if all goes wrong. Your plan B should be perfect enough to maintain your superwoman tag.
This is nothing less than mental stress. A condition you don’t want to address and so you avoid it little realizing that it’s even more dangerous.
You are always happy
It takes time to say that it’s ok to be unhappy. It’s a reality that we can’t be happy always and sadness will come in circle to be happy again. But. We discuss with others only when we are happy. We fear judgements once we declare we are not ok at present.
Aren’t we still living for society or for social media? This society starts guessing the reasons behind our unhappiness. Be it for them or for us, this gossiping will happen in any circumstances. So better to address your problem with full courage and correct it in time.

Have you taken mental health treatment?
This is a big taboo yet today. You just can’t share with the world that you have taken the treatment for a mental problem. You feel you are answerable to the whole society. This in itself is a big pressure for the person concerned. People often get the courage to share their victory over depression once they fight it back. Everyone likes to share their success stories but not before or during the course of time.
Your powerful image
Once an image made should not be broken. Is that what’s eating you from inside? It is high time you should break-free from all notions of society and come out transparent. An image that lets you breathe and share your joys, as well as sorrows, is the one that gives you peace.
You need society to live in but don’t let it over-burden you and take away simple joys of life. So did you gift a smile to someone today?

Yeah, well said Geethica. Most of the times, we fear the social stigma we have to face, when we say that we are not OK
So true, Suhasini. If we try to step up of that then one day we will. Thanks.
