Which old movie is magical and takes you back in time?
Does an old movie take you back in time? For me, they do. Last night was a nostalgic one for me. Being a Saturday, I was a bit relaxed with my writing and browsed TV while sipping my evening tea. Once I have started writing regularly and taken my blog professionally, I seldom watch television now. For that matter, I don’t even like to entangle myself in web series or movies. That’s the reason if any day I sit to watch, my family is like are you watching TV? It’s ajooba for them.
Any old movie that’s magical
So, while browsing, I found Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1 on UTV movies. I have watched this movie in the theatre and read the book also. That time my daughter was around 3 years old and she had newly started connecting words and speaking full sentences.
We were so impressed with this Twilight saga that we often rented the DVDs and watched them at home to keep alive the charm of vampires and werewolves. One such day, we were watching one of the Twilight series and our daughter came in saying something sweet in one full sentence. We paused the television and celebrated that small milestone.
Reviving old memories in front of my eyes
Yesterday night too, as I watched the movie, I recollected all the instances that happened a few years back. Each scene of the movie reminded me of something cute happening in the past. From the inside, I felt so content and blessed to enjoy this time and the pace of life.
I finished the movie and had dinner with everyone. At 10 PM, still swimming in the pool of old memories, I browsed the channels one last time before I retire to bed and read a book. As if the universe wanted me to dive in a little more, I found my first love, Pierce Brosnan, on Times Now movies, Tomorrow Never Dies.
I have loved him since the days I learnt about this affection and this word called Love. It took me back to my school years when I used to come running from my bus stop in the afternoon to watch Remington Steele on Star World. Oh, those were the days...
I wouldn’t understand the British accent so well but I would watch him. Then a year later, the whole series re-started and I re-watched it all over again! Sweet lovely days…
Some days are conspired specially to make you feel content
Well, coming forward to 20 years in the present, I thoroughly enjoyed last night binging on my lovely memories and reliving every moment of my life in those few hours. Some days are made to relax you. Today, you can browse everything on the internet and watch it again. But do we browse old movies? No. We want to go ahead. Catching an old movie by chance on television is an instance to remember forever.
Don’t you get nostalgic by watching something from the past?
These magical days come on their own and you can’t plan them. That’s why the charm is gold as it’s beyond your control.
