# Wisdom Tales | How much education is complete education?

Education is an important part of our development and we strive to get the best education as per our stature in society. Today's **[Wisdom Tale](https://thoughtsbygeethica.com/2020/10/wisdom-tales-sweet-with-a-pinch-of-salt/)** is also talking about how much education is complete education?

## Eklavya's education is important

Eklavya was born in a very educated Brahmin family. His father was known in his village and the villages around for his modesty and humble nature. Eklavya's father would teach him along with other children at home. But in some time, his father realised that at home Eklavya was not concentrating properly. Out of attachment, his mother would call him for lunch or she would insist Eklavya take some rest and so on.

After a month of all this, his father decided to send him to Gurukul for further studies and nourishment of his character. On the other hand, Eklavya thought his father may not be so much educated that's why he's sending him somewhere else to study.

After a few years, Eklavya was back home. His parents were proud and happy to see him and so was he himself. Though his mother couldn't stop praising him, his father saw a **few changes in his character**. Now he didn't greet his parents early in the morning or inform them about his whereabouts. He seldom sat with them and talked.

Eklavya's father was concerned so he called Eklavya to his room and asked a few questions about his course. Eklavya smiled in himself thinking maybe his father will not understand when he answers. But of course, his father understood and appreciated him.

His father could sense **[arrogance and ego](https://thoughtsbygeethica.com/2017/09/selfishness-vs-selflessness/)** in Eklavya. Now, he knew what to ask Eklavya that would bring him in front of his own reflection. He asked Eklavya did he learn **how to be modest and humble **which are the first principles of education?

## Impact of this story on my life

I questioned myself after listening to this story for the first time. What am I learning and how can I make it useful to the world? Am I bowing down to earth with each of the new learnings in my life? I found myself in the process.

Have you come across a point in life where education is more than books for you?
