Wisdom Tales | Who’s behind you to make you proud of yourself

When you win a battle, be it small or big, at home or workplace, there are some people who help you win. Do you remember to thank all who helped you throughout? Or do you simply feel proud and start celebrating your success? Today’s Wisdom Tale is talking about an incidence that reminds you of the power behind your success.

Someone makes you proud and someone breaks you down

Together all devs won a battle and were having proud discussions on how they defeated the evils. That’s when Mahadev sensed ego in each of them which is not a characteristic of devs. This is the habit that separates dev from humans. It’s important to remind them of their real duty towards all.

Mahadev duped as Yakshraj who’s a weird looking creature and sat in some distance from all of them. While talking, one of them saw Yakshraj and wondered who’s he. They thought they may have left a demon who followed them till here. To inquire, everyone decided that Agni dev is the fastest and goes first everywhere so Agni dev should check on Yakshraj.

Agni dev went and asked Yakshraj that who’s he? Yakshraj asked in reply that who’s Agni dev? It questioned his ego and he proudly said the whole universe knows me and I know all. Yakshraj laughed loudly and said when you know all then how come you don’t know me? It further pushed down Agni dev’s ego.

Next Yakshraj challenged him to fire a twig lying in front of them. It was a shame for Agni dev to fire such a small twig when he can fire the whole universe all at once.

He opened his mouth to shoot fire at the twig but surprisingly nothing happened. It shocked him to death. Next time, he tried with all his power but in vain. Agni dev quietly watched Yakshraj and came back with a frowned face.

Other devs curiously asked about the incident but Agni dev avoided them and sat in one corner. So they all decided to send Vayu dev next to Yakshraj.

The same incident happened between Vayu dev and Yakshraj too. Similarly, one by one all devs came and went by but no one could understand Yakshraj. At this point, Indra dev decided to check himself. He went there but found nobody. He was furious, in fact, inquisitive to know who was that creature and where did he go?

On the other hand, Mahadev decided not to even talk to Indra dev as he is the king of devs. When all of them are so proud of themselves then Indra dev would be no different. There’s no reason I should teach him a lesson. By now, he would have understood me.

Indra dev sat there for a while still thinking about Yakshraj. He was curious to know who can be so intelligent and knowledgeable that nobody could defeat him? At that time, Parvathi Maa appeared and answered his dilemma. She told him that Mahadev himself came to you but you didn’t recognize him!

Effect of this Wisdom Tale on my life

After I heard this tale, I realised that I become proud of things I finish successfully and want others to follow me too. It took me time to accept that all are different and have different beliefs to do the same thing. Gradually, I became conscious and now try to shift my focus if I start feeling proud again.

It is better to think of people who helped you gain success and how to be thankful to them and to your almighty instead of feeling egoistic and proud of your deeds.
