What is the best way to limit your time and be productive?
I always stress upon organising your time and use your energy on things that are productive. Everyone, including me, gets in the vicious circle of shiny objects and get lost from the motive. It is utmost important to value your time because when time slips out, it leaves you depressed. It is better to manage your time and use your skills only on useful tasks. So let’s discuss what is the best way to limit your time and use the saved energy to be productive.
Rework your schedule
Every human has a schedule that he follows irrespective of whether he is productive or not. If you really want to be productive during the day, check your daily to-do list. See if you are giving more time and energy to repetitive work. The work you do every day is mechanical, you don’t need any new skills to perform it. So don’t think about it, just start and finish. Like, every morning, I have to do my laundry and water plants before I get ready for the day. I try to do them at the earliest without even thinking. I just want to save my time and energy for the new tasks of the day like writing a new piece of blog or thinking menu of the day. Both things have to be different daily!
Search your most productive hour of the day
Every human has some productive hours in a day when you can just sit for a while and your creative juices flow at the best. You are the most productive at this hour without any disturbances. You need to be observant to find out. Watch your activities carefully for a week or so. You will get your time. Like, I have 2 best productive slots. One in the morning when kids are at school, I can do all clerical work including working on documents and excel sheets and in the evening or at night after dinner, I write the most creative posts for my blog.
Plan and keep small targets
Targets make your planning easier. Always plan ahead your day and keep achievable targets. Don’t lie to your brain. Your subconscious knows how much can you finish in a day along with other household chores. So plan smartly. In fact, keep a target less so that when you achieve a little more it comes as a bonus for the day. Your brain needs training so train it in a way that makes you happy.
You need to have a plan B because planning often fails! But again, this is not the end. It is the beginning of plan B.
Learn to focus
Every planning is successful only if you focus and finish your targets on time. Why do we fail in achieving targets? That’s simply because we are shaking from our path. Through practice only, we can win this over. Just keep your belief firm that you can finish it and you have to finish it at any cost. I am still working on to maintain my focus. Many times I fail but a few times I win also.
Reward yourself
Everyone likes a reward for good work then why not reward ourselves? Why do we wait for somebody else to praise us first? Keep a sweet affordable reward for yourself once you finish your target for the day. It could be as simple as watching your favourite series or eating an ice-cream. Of course, it is a cheat day for you!
Rewarding keeps you focused on your targets. Try it!
So from where are you going to start? Your productive hours a day can win you many surprises in life. You just need to be observant and know how to limit your time for useful things.

Nice tips, Geethica.
We all have fixed hours everyday. God hasn’t differentiated between anyone. But, our prodcutivity depends on how we use them.
We need to make the most of every moment as “aanewala pal jaanewala hai” 🙂
Well said,Anita. It depends on us how we take it. Thanks a lot.
