Know your abilities and add them to your portfolio
We are always learning something or the other every day as it is well said that there’s no age for learning. And have you noticed that every learning leaves an impression on your character? Often we are unaware of our own abilities. While I was in school, I got to know from friends that chowmein is my favourite because given a choice I prefer noodles. Coming back to the present times, my son noticed that when we talk about his small shopping at the school canteen, I become angry simply because of its unnecessary wastage of money. That’s when I got an idea to know my abilities and add them to my portfolio.
These instances help you know your abilities
- Deadlines are the best way to access your patience. Under a time constraint, you prioritize your work and put your energy where it is needed at the earliest. You will be surprised to know that you can also finish work on time. Like, throughout the year, I may be lazy to blog but blogging challenges push me to write regularly. Through this challenge only, I came to know that I can write a post that’s SEO apt within an hour.
- In my last post, I told to stop juggling but when we still juggle our duties, we come to know our organizing skills. I can organise the whole day efficiently provided I get up early and get my peaceful dose in the morning. This morning motivation helps me to delegate household chores, blog and read all in one day.
- Your elders praise you that takes your attention to the hidden qualities in you. Now you can be proud of them and use them knowingly.
Some abilities come from your genes
My mother has given me the quality to organize my tasks and finish them without getting tense. Every family member influences your character and I realised this so many years later in life. My father has an abundance of patience and has the ability to ignore things around that are not useful to him. Now I know how patience comes to me so easily while I am still practising to be ignorant.
Your marriage changes you for good
My mother in law has the ability to arrange quick kitchen hacks in case of emergency. I have learnt from her never to say that the food is finished. If you are in the kitchen, there are numerous options to finish the recipe and present it on the table.
One great quality I have taken from my father in law is that you may argue on disagreement but then say it, leave it there and move on. Don’t drag your tense mood for days to come. You told your opinion so stop it right there.
So many qualities to be proud of and practice to make my life easy. You just need to be observant and know your abilities.
What’s your ability that makes you proud?
