Six months into 2019 and I am feeling powerful
My first blog of the year 2019 was Focus. With a focus on the right goals and six months into 2019, I am feeling powerful. I am proud to admit that I have achieved some discipline in myself. Here, I am discussing the positive changes in me and my blog due to the power of focus. As a follow up I can vision a thought leadership strategy for my blog. A streamline that is an ongoing procedure and the results can be enjoyed until infinity.
Thank you Reema for passing on readers to my blog.
Six months is a good time to evaluate
Last year December, I had started compiling positive and negative aspects of my character. While I enjoyed the new year with good vibes, I realised the powerful word this year would be ‘Focus’ for me. I knew I had to work on it. And here, six months into 2019, I have already improved a lot. My achieved areas of expertise are

- Practise – It is not easy to focus when you are not a professional at it. Your mind tends to fly away from whatever fruitful you are doing. There are many distractions in our life the biggest being mobile. While writing this post also, I had to strongly keep away my mobile. But I am improving.
- Regularity – With focus, I am now regular at my work. No day goes when I have not written a single thing. Even a social media post forces my mind to think and create.
- The first half of the day – I am extremely proud to say that I am able to write a post in the first half of the day. Earlier, I wasted this time because I just couldn’t concentrate. Now, I am much better. The ratio of serious writing to idle sitting has improved. I am hopeful to increase it more by the end of this year.
- Anger management– I have learnt to be quiet on many issues and don’t react immediately. Believe me, it helps and keeps you sane! And this adds credit to my patience.
- Reading – I am proud to say that I am able to read regularly while my writing assignments.
Fix a bad day with the power of focus
There is no control on the days you spend. But you can try to fix a bad day. With the focus on the right work at the right time, I take up plan B quickly. I don’t think of the second plan beforehand but experience in a particular field teaches you with time. Instead of cribbing for the time lost, I come back with new options to fix the day. Yes, I feel bad and many times feel like crying. But, how to control that is not in my hand? Now is the time to fix it and I need to focus on that because there are still 24 hours in a day. And deadlines are important, be it corporate world, household kitchen or parenting.
These six months have given me the time to focus on the result. Create methods to get that end result in other ways. On my blog, I am not able to write because of n number of distractions and time is slipping out of my hand. To fix it, I sit late at night or early morning and finish peacefully.
In kitchen, some recipe is tasting bad and I can’t modify with adding or removing a spice. I prepare it all over again instead of thinking what might have gone wrong.
Kids are unpredictable. They don’t let you work when you want to. Deadlines are often broken when they are around. I blog when they are sleeping, playing with each other or at school. During holidays, early mornings are my favourite time. I don’t like to sit late on the laptop and prefer gadget-free time before I sleep. Though, sometimes I have to break this rule also.
I accept that I am human and every day can’t be according to a time table. Analyzing ways to fix a bad day is the most important thing for me. Organising your time well and focusing on the end result are the strong habits a person should possess.

Building thought leadership for my blog
Every person has at least one quality within that makes their lives easier. Some people know this early in life and I took some years to know my qualities.
The quality of organising in me comes from my mother and patience from my father. We need a circumstance that triggers a particular quality in us. Gradually they become our habits and give power to us. This power is our leadership quality and I am proud to lead them.
Some of the qualities like focus and discipline in blogging have developed over a period of time. I started by just writing a blog with no readers. Then, one day while browsing I discovered platforms like Momspresso and Blogchatter. I am proud to be associated with them today also. They have given many accolades of my writing career.
My blog is my character. I need to work on myself first which will automatically reflect on my blog. This is my unique calling. My powers that turn into unique content and become helpful for my readers.
Six months into 2019 and I am building a thought process for my blog to lead. I am collating my leadership qualities into my content in a way that my readers can benefit from it.
There are many big problems in life but if we observe small issues and solve them first, a clear path will be made.
