](https://www.indiblogger.in/post/the-fortnight-chase-effects-of-mental-health-on-our-body)Suddenly, everybody is talking about mental health? Why? Because the world is falling prey to this taboo. The stats show that the depression level is increasing in every third person. Some are protected in time but the others become news. Everybody is coming into this tornado of emotions. Maybe a celebrity or someone like you and me. It is a proven fact that people are glued to the internet for any purpose. So why not use it to offend signs of depression and spread happiness?

### What is Mental Health?

**Mental health** includes our emotional, **psychological**, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. [**Mental health**](https://thoughtsbygeethica.com/2018/07/the-fortnight-chase-chase-to-mental-health/) is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. In much simpler language, **it is our mind; the conscious and the sub-conscious mind**. The driving force behind every action in our body. All our emotions are connected with our brain. This brian only ensures that all body parts are working properly and keeps us good. So it's self-explanatory why is important to keep our mental health the best.

### Effects of Mental health

- The reflex of any action on our brain is directly related to the way we react to it. When we smile, we feel good about everything happening around but when we are sad? It is important to know the effect of these emotions on our health.
- Have you ever noticed how bad our day goes when we are not mentally happy? Maybe we have fought with somebody early in the morning or didn't get the desired result? It actually affects us and our mood is really bad that day or the coming days.
- It is difficult but we need to **detach ourselves from instant reaction to things we don't like. **
- Remember the time when you get good surprises. You instantly feel happy and behave nicely to all the whole day.
- When our mental health is bad, it directly affects our life. The major result is Depression. Here are the latest **depression statistics**: 300 million people around the world have **depression**, according to the World Health Organization. 16.2 million adults in the United States—equaling 6.7 per cent of all adults in the country—have experienced a major depressive episode in the past year.

Depression is the biggest disease we all have to fight at present. In this series, I am collecting the major ways to control depression and gradually eradicate from our lives.

I am taking part in fortnight-long blogging challenge - BarAThon 2018
