The fortnight chase – Chase to mental health
Many of us know the purpose of our living but some are confused. We are talking of the people who are crystal clear of their aim in life. Ok, I understand. There is no need to know this as we are here to take the day as it comes. But, at a certain point, we wait for a minute and ask ourselves that Why are we working? Who are we chasing? Are we chasing success or depression? But basically, it is a chase to our mental health. The training our brain and being mentally fit. The ones who are regularly following my blog may recall that I always stress on training the brain to achieve what you want. And to the new readers also, I firmly believe that you are what you think. When you sow apple seeds, you won’t get orange fruit.
Mental health- choosing the right way
Everybody is after something or the other in life. A toddler is chasing his toy. A school going girl is chasing her grades. A mother wants the ‘me’ time. Similarly, the earning member of the family has larger things to chase in life. In between this chase game, many lose themselves to mental illness. They are not able to differentiate the thin line between admiration and being envious.
No success is preset. We have to mend our ways and make a path of our own. We have to weed the hurdles. The biggest of the hurdles is chasing competitors. Often we overlook that we chase the success but depression chases us. We are stuck. But the survival of the fittest is the one who beats the depression and finishes chasing success.
Some quick tips to remember
- Befriend your competitor and play clean and healthy. This calms you mentally and you can be stress-free.
- Everyone eyes another person either from the same fraternity or other. Get inspired by them instead of being envious or jealous. Both have different effects on your mental health.
Choose carefully whom you chase. If at any point, you feel lost and need some guidance, contact me. I am always an email away.
I am taking part in fortnight-long blogging challenge – BarAThon 2018
I am writing on the theme – Chase to Mental health
An excellent theme and topic. I feel that mental health is so rarely spoken of, but it is so important to understand and be healthy!
That’s true. Thank you Ishieta.
We need awareness about mental health in a big away as visiting a doctor is still considered a taboo. It is so important to look out for the symptoms of depression and other mental illness and seek professional help. Agree with you that in this race of life we are busy chasing our dreams and goals but we lose to depression, anxiety and fatigue. Thanks for talking about a relevant subject!
I’m so glad more and more people are writing about mental health. Kudos to you Geethica. This is a much needed subject that needs attention especially in the Indian context.
All the best for Barathon!
So true. Just contributing my bit. Thank you
I can relate myself with this post. You cant believe how worst office politics is. Even I see everywhere people are playing wrong game! A healthy competition is good always but sometimes we forget the difference of right and wrong. There are so many people with no ethics, no life principles. My job, family, son, sometimes I also feel depressed, frustrated. Thanks for this post dear.
I can well imagine Sayeri. Politics is even at home and causes so much stress. We just need to remind ourselves to be positive. Thank you
This is such a relevant topic, Geethica & I’m really with you on this.
Mental health problems are always about a social stigma that surrounds them. Whether you’re depressed, frustrated or suffer from a little schizophrenia, people vaguely label you as ‘mad’ on an annoyingly ‘humorous’ note. It’s strange why people fail to see things beyond their physical body. Our body is a useless entity without the normal functioning of the mind. Like you say, everybody today is immersed in the endless chase to gratify his/her ego. To show whom? To show what?
The social media addiction makes it worse even. There’s always this chase to seeking validation from people whether you look good or affluent enough to pose in plush ambiences. There’s a real need to touch topics in the domain of our minds.
I’m glad you got this post!
There are so many things happening around that affects us. But we need to choose what makes us feel good. Thank you Ashvini.
