# When Neem tree helped us all

This is Neem tree in front of my house. It is a very old tree. Its branches cover our balcony and give a shield of protection to all of us. For years, I have heard about the medicinal benefits of the Neem tree. But I actually realised its importance when some years back my family caught Chickenpox one after another. The instant reaction is to take medication from Doctor. But side by side, we took neem leaves, soaked them in water and bathed daily. The big leaves with stems eased the irritation that the skin creates during this time. When these leaves are rubbed over the skin, the rashes are somewhat smoothened. Because you want to scratch it with your hand that it will only lead to bleeding and more scratches on the body.

Chickenpox takes its time to heal (4-5 years) but when the body feels weak and irritated, these neem leaves help to stay calm. I was blessed to have Neem tree in front of my home only where I could just break some small branches and use it. Some people say it is auspicious to have Neem tree in front of your home. But it is our faith in God that brings the happiness around.
