Simple tips to activate your brain
When the kids are at school, I wait for them to return because I miss them. And when they are home during vacations, I just want them to be back to school. The reason is that kids get bored at home and as a parent you need to first activate your brain and then ideas will flow to make them creative.
Do you also feel the same as a mother?
Well these days, my kids are at home. And every morning to evening, they want something new to do. Whether they watch TV or do their activities or even play endlessly still, they will come to me and ask ” Now what should I do Mom?”
And I am always like “What now?”
I have tried so many things to keep them busy. But the main problem is that the brain of kids needs to try something new every few minutes. One fine day while browsing my phone, I came across an interesting site about solving puzzles. Puzzles are what excites an adult also. Before I could realise it, my brain had already started to solve a puzzle.
“Mom, are you playing a game on the phone?” my 4-year-old son accused me.
“Ugh no, actually yes.” I was embarrassed to tell him that I had searched for this puzzle for him and here I had played it for more than an hour now!!
Now he is the one solving one after another puzzle and the rest is history.

Some excerpts from reality
Jigsaw puzzles help engage the brain and encourage the retention of information about shapes and colours. This information then helps the brain choose pieces that fit together. The hunt for pieces requires your brain to memorise what pieces look like, along with remembering what kind of pieces you are searching for, in order to complete the picture. Doing this repeatedly reinforces short-term memory – Do Jigsaw Puzzles Help the Brain?
When children were 4 years and 6 months old, they completed a spatial task involving mental transformations of 2-dimensional shapes. Children who were observed playing with puzzles performed better on this task than those who did not. Among those children who played with puzzles, the frequency of puzzle play predicted performance on the spatial transformation task.
