Today, I want to talk about the most important quality of our life. A quality that we always strive for. In case, you have not guessed it right. It’s I-INDEPENDENT.

The real meaning

Not subject to control by others

or

showing a desire for freedom

Examples from life

We want to be independent in all the fields we are attached to. We want to talk independently, to work and now to even earn and live independently.

Independence comes hand in hand with dependence. We had been dependent once that is why we feel proud to be independent later. Little realising that sadness is remembered more in the times of sufferings. And happiness is cherished because we count our blessings in comparisons to those sad times.

There can more instances like in relationships, the partners are dependent but they love the small independence of space that they allow to each other.

Things to remember

We should be cautious, not to be over-proud of our independence. Instead, we should be humble.

Our independence should be helpful to the society first, which in turn, makes our life successful. As talked earlier also, a person is a person because of another person. You cannot survive all alone just with your independence. You need another man to admire you and encourage you.

Like a child grows, we should grow from being dependent to independent.

But

Some things in life are loved being dependent only like the human relations.

  1. I wrote on this topic today, too, but from a different viewpoint. We truly are not adults until we can handle independence. In my 60’s, I also realize that, sometime later in my life, independence will get harder and harder. It’s all part of the life cycle, but so hard to lose.

  2. I am fiercely independent, and share my life with a man who is the same 🙂 We come together because we love to be together 🙂 I LOVED the shadow quote (as the one above me). It is so deep. I am adding it to my favorite quotes 🙂

  3. Yes we need to be independent… Specially financially and emotionally too, although the second one is a bit harder to achieve… Loved the quotes you have shared.

  4. This is true that Independence comes from dependence. I believe in this because finally we humans are social beings and there is and interdependence amongst Us.
